Up Coming....

1. Welcome to our new student who will join us Tuesday, January 22nd !
  • Frederic Bentley,  6th grade
 2. Trish will be chaperoning the AMIS International MS Mixed Choir Festival which will be held in Beijing, China. I will be returning to AISC Monday, January 28th. There will be no update to this blog for next week.

Advisory....
We are moving into the lessons for Honesty to the World. Students will be using their values work to determine what area of interest they have to make improvements for the world around them.

Students will need to determine how to be true ( honest) to themselves and use this interest to develop their community project.

Students will be grouped together into "like interest" groups. These groups will then be working together to pool their ideas to develop their world project to further and to its maximum potential.

Their projects will then be shared and presented among Advisory classes.
This proves to be a rewarding experience for the students as they move to develop their interests to  improve their community and world around them.

What dies Honesty  mean?
 ...being truthful and sincere
 ...being a person with integrity
 ...being open and trustworthy

I am honest when I....
...say what I mean and mean what I say
...I make promises I can keep
 ...I admit my mistakes
...I do what I know is right

Honesty affirmations
 ...I accept myself
....I can be trusted to keep my word
...I tell the truth kindly and tactfully

Advisory lesson: One of the first lessons that the students have done is learn about the brain and how it works and how one's positive self esteem can be developed  through practicing and using new positive thoughts and behaviors which eventually become dominant pathways in the brain.
