Advisory Theme “Making Good Choices”
Adolescents, age 12-15 need opportunities for independent thinking, exploration and testing of limits. With these experiences come the opportunity to make a choice, decision and understand, accept and appreciate their consequences, both good and bad. Through our work with the Advisory theme, students will engage in activities that allow them to explore responsibility, consequences, knowing yourself, values, and the decision making process.

FCD: FDC or Freedom from Chemical Dependency, is a non-profit organization that provides alcohol, tobacco and other drug education to school and colleges worldwide.

During the week of Sept 18-21st, students will be participating in a assembly which will focus on the role that media messages play in what is “cool” and “hip” and the consequential “coloring” of the informed choices that young people make about drugs. The assembly will ...”explore the role of normative beliefs, media, and the environment in shaping the nature and degree of student use of alcohol and drugs”.
FCD presentation to Middle School Parents: Wednesday, September 19th 8:45-10:00am in HOL
